"An ideal opportunity to further build on skills learned in the Goldwork Bee workshop, and practice more hand embroidery, stitching padded, kid-leather, to create your own charming little snowman.

He will stand amongst a sparkling forest of couched trees, using specialist threads.

Creating your own unique, beautiful winter forest scene; with the addition of faceted crystals and beads, will add a little bit of bright ‘magic' to your piece of textile art, whilst at the same time further exploring this centuries old technique, much loved by royalty, the church and aristocrats alike”

Requirements List

MATERIALS 

10” square of top fabric & 10” square backing cotton/calico. (OPTIONAL: 10” square crystal organza*)

O-beads, seed & bugle beads, plus faceted bead*

Bright check + Pearl purl + smooth purl*

2” square kid leather* + 2” felt for padding*

3 ply twist/jap/K1 & Miliary / rococo *

Coloured wire*

Metallic thread + clear translucent thread/couching thread *

Soft string*

Bees wax/ thread conditioner*

Items marked * are available to buy on the day as a kit £9.85 payable to the tutor.

Couching; leather; plunging & beading needles

Sharp embroidery scissors

Paper and tracing paper for planning your design, if not using mine
