It has a total of 23 stitches: 15 overlock stitches, 3 coverstitches, 4 combo stitches and 1 chain stitch. The lower looper and chain looper have a mechanical threader. The knife is operated from below, which not only ensures a cleanly cut edge, but also safe handling, and it can be adjusted comfortably with one hand.
The bernette 48 is the top model in the Funlock series and is a combination of an
overlock and a coverstitch machine. It offers a total of 23 stitches: 15 overlock
stitches, 3 coverstitches, 4 combo stitches and 1 chain stitch, the overlock stitches
with a stitch width of up to 7 mm. The threading is facilitated by color-coded
threading paths, and a manual threader supports the threading of the needle eye.
The looper threads are threaded mechanically. The knife is operated from below and
thus provides not only a clean cutting edge but also safe handling and good visibility
to the stitching. The b48 Funlock sews at a speed of up to 1300 stitches per minute.

Threading made simple
The colour - coded, open thread path makes the Bernette Funlock 48 easy to thread by following the coloured markings. A seperate needle threader and lower looper threading mechanism also make threading easier.

What is the differential feed for?
The differential feed always ensures smooth seams with knitted fabrics and crimp-free seams with fine fabrics. By adjusting the setting between 0.6 and 2, however deliberate crimping can also be created, as for decorative ruffles.
