Featuring a large zipped pocket on the back for secure storage and an internal patch pocket for easy organisation, it’s as functional as it is stylish. The adjustable straps ensure a comfortable fit, and when made in soft needlecord, it offers both durability and a beautiful texture. Perfect for day trips, casual outings, or as a fun handmade gift!

Pattern Overview
This pattern includes detailed instructions to help you mark the interfacing and pattern pieces accurately. Proper marking ensures all important points on the rucksack are clearly indicated for a high-quality finish.

Materials Needed:

1 m of needle cord | ½ m plain cotton lining | ½ m floral print cotton | 1 m H640 | 2 m (approx.) 1” webbing | 2 X 1” sliders | 2 X 1” D rings | 2 X 1” lobster clasps | 2 magnetic snaps | 1 popper | 1 faux fur pom-pom (as large as you would like) | 1 X 12” zip or zip on a roll | matching cottons (I used Aurifil 40wt & 50wt) | quilters tape | fray check | ‘zip jig’  (Optional – mine is from Emibdesigns)

  • Sewing machine 
  • Clips and pins
  • Heat erasable pen
  • Tailors ham (optional)
  • Iron
  • Quilting tape
  • Rotary cutter
  • Cutting mat
  • Material cutting scissors
  • Zipper foot
  • Fray check

  • Green machine (optional)
